By means of the adapter it is possible to determine the differential
pressure of the entire penstock, incl. oil preheater. The adapter is to be installed after the nozzle holder (preheater). The measured pump pressure is compared with the measured pressure in the adapter.
Test procedure:
The adapter is installed in the nozzle holder or oil preheater instead of the nozzle and the nozzle is installed in the adapter. A hose, connected to the nozzle, collects any oil leaking during the test phase. The 1st
manometer is screwed in the test nipple and the 2nd in the P pipe of the oil pump. Now the pressure before the nozzle is set to the required or
indicated pressure. This is only possible when the oil is flowing. The
leaking oil is collected in a tank. It is now possible to read and compare the pump pressure and the pressure before the nozzle. Depending on the
nozzle size and the burner structure the difference should not exceed 2 bar.
